hi
if the problem persisted, this means that the system is still using the
mis-configuration that causes it to fail (i e you are still booting the
original system).
as i have told you in my first mail, you need to boot from external
media, and not boot the installed system. how to do this depends on your
distribution. under suse i would boot the "rescue system" (which is
totally on cd), then mount the root partition from the installed system
and edit the appropriate files. which files those are in your case, i
cannot tell, as i lack redhat experience. it should be in your handbooks.
if you don't know how to fix the problem manually, find the startscripts
that bring up your network interfaces. find out how to disable the start
of the PPP interface.
HELP: anyone here with redhat knowledge?
